clemens pitches to clemens

I hear that Roger Clemens gave up a long homerun to his son in batting practice.  And the next pitch he threw to his son was high and tight.  Sounds awful, right?

Roger Clemens, a future hall-of-famer, can hit his spots.  Until I am proven otherwise, I'll say that Roger would never hit his son.  But getting chin music is a perfectly acceptable and reasonable way to prepare for big league play.  Why not get a pitch near your face from someone who will intentionally miss it?

rivera and the saves record

Mariano Rivera is entering the last guaranteed year of his contract with the Yankees.  There is a team option for next year.

Looking at his stats and the career saves records, Mariano needs at least two full seasons to become the career saves leader.

He was really under the microscope last year and got too much flak, in my opinion, for his blown saves.  Consider his success rate for the entire season, as well as his ERA, and you'll be a believer too.
